What kind of riding do you want to do? Lake Koocanusa is on the US BC border and has some sandy riding, as well porcupine hills is awesome and is kinda linked to indian graves. You can get access down along the chain lakes road. As well, there is some intense stuff at Livingstone which is accessible along chain lakes road as well. What have you ridden in McLean? There is lots of stuff that are really only known by a few people that I guarantee you haven't ridden! You can ride in the area down by Castle Mountian as well.
i haev yet to ride mclean- only ever wheeled down there in my old 4runner. Just got a new (to me crf450) and would like to take it out- problem is have to sell my car to get something to haul it around.
I went to Mclean last weekend. It was muddy but fun as hell. Do you live in the south by chance? I can fit 2 bikes in my truck.
