Where should i get a supra inspected?
hi, im looking at a mk3 supra that a fellow beyond member is selling. He had the engine rebuild, from what i can tell the engine is in good shape. But the problem is coolant light is on. From what i know of mk3 supra is that the head gasket is prone to problems. So i want to find a place that could do a inspection for the car, want to find somewhere that knows alot about these cars.

Toyota dealer, and yeah the Supras often had headgasket issues.

True, 7Ms do have head gasket issues, but if it's been rebuilt, it has probably been rebuilt to new torque specifications at the very least (or with ARP studs) eliminating the issues.
The coolant light only means you have low coolant in your overflow bottle, it doesn't mean you have a BHG.
Open the rad cap, and look at the coolant. If it's still nice and red (or green), then you're probably fine. If it looks like a milkshake, you have problems.
With tha being said, if you want to take it in to get inspected, Stampede Toyota up north knows their way around the 7M, as well as RCTS in the south. Reg knows just about everything to do with 7Ms.

Unless you bring it to the dealer and specify so. If you take it elsewhere, advise them to do a compression test and a leak down test if you're still paranoid. Good chances are since it's been rebuilt it might just be low on coolant or there's a stupid leak somewhere. Also the front end on these cars are long so burping your cooling system is crucial as well. A large air bubble could have very well escaped and the coolant taking up it's place thus bringing down your coolant level.

i would take your time looking for one...its not a car to just jump into.
supraforums is great for info but you will have to import it and that can be a hassle.
i would just take your time and when you see the right one get it.
that's what i did.
\i would do some reasearch on what you are getting yourself into they are a great car but they have issues
