Where to get a power bleeder?

Anyone know where I can find a pressure bleeder? Or have one they can lend/rent for a day?

Having some trouble with my brakes, and need to get some new fluid in there.

I saw a one way bleeder valve for brake bleeding at Napa the other day. Cost something like $11-$12. I'm not sure how well it works though...

Are you talking power bleeder valves? Like the thing that screws into the caliper? If so MOPAC used to stock those in all sizes.

If you are talking a power bleeder system your only choice is to bring one up from the US. I looked for about 2 weeks to find a good one locally and got pissed off and brought one up from the States.

I seem to recall that Princess Auto was selling power bleeders for $30-40 a while back. Check there maybe.

Those are speed bleeders that screw into the calipers. They're supposed to make bleeding a 5 minute job, but I heard that they are prone to failure - they depend on thread sealant to keep air from going back up into the lines.

Im looking for the bleeder that attaches to the master cylinder and forces brake fluid through the lines so you can flush out your old fluid.

ahh one of those thing-a-majigs that you use to do a topsided oil change. I am looking for one as well! The only place in Canada where I have found them is coopersport.ca

Griots Garage even has one that runs off your air compresser.

I would really like to find one of these locally though.

EDIT: wait aren't you not supposed to use these for brake fluid. I think brake fluid eats the seals or something like that.

Napa sells them. Ive used them it to flush/bleed brakes and have never had a problem with seals because the fluid doesnt touch any seals in the extractor.

Its called a vacuum brake bleeder. Its just a venturi design and the hose has a fitting to go over a bleeder screw. They are really easy to use but you could just gravity bleed it if your stuck.

We have a power bleeder at the shop and we never use it because it takes forever to set up and rarely works. We got ours from snap on.

Even when the demo guy came he could not use it properly. HE kepp getting brake fluid everywhere...

Just invit one of your friends over and get him to work those leg muscles.

The Mac Vacuum Bleeder is stupid easy and works well. I second that one.

Make one. Cut a bicycle inner tube, tie a knot in one end, stretch the other end over the resivoir top, clamp it on, dial your air compressor to like 5psi, and go to town. Worked for me.
