Yo bro, are you from that goat Calgary car forum that get salty over lawn care, land rovers and circumcisions? That's straight fire.

My E30 with brand new good studded tires between Grand Prarie and Fort St John was NOT good, back end would kick out every 2 minutes, not very fun on a 2 way highway with trucks coming the other way...

In my e46 traction control is really good, I find winter driving effortless with it.

On a second note, I would not mid a 3 series xi for winter for increased accel....

That was my second thought if I heard poor things about the E39 in the winter

With traction control on it is hard to get the back end to come out. At the same time though dont expect fast accels because it is a rear wheel drive car and that can get a bit annoying.

As long as its safe I don't mind a bit of annoyance. Thanks!

with all the safety systems you are fine on 85% of roads/snow on all seasons...get winters and you will be better off than FWD..as for keeping you straight..let DSC do its thing

Mine's great in snow. I have a set of cheap Canadain tire winters, no problems with the traction control!
Wife says she feels more comfortable driving in the 540 than the Escalade?!?

My dad has one, it is fine in the winter with all seasons. It stops just fine and goes just fine, no worries whatsoever. I wouldn't think twice about it. The TCS only puts as much power to the wheels as it can before slippage, even if you floor the gas - its drive by wire.

I have a 92' 3 series which didnt come with traction control, and I drive it year round without any problems. just get a good set of winter tires and you will be fine, as long as you dont try to be a drifter king in it
