I think Calgary Jewellery has a Zenith Sale going on this weekend. I have my eye on this one. If it is a good deal i might get it. MSRP $9200..
This is the one. I even got Jeff to write me the price on there.

To be honest, i wasn't planning on buying a watch today. Went over to calgary jewellery to pickup a Valentine's Ring for my wife. So after picking up the ring Jeff(sales rep) showed me the Super Avenger they just got in last week. After i tried it on i was hooked. I have a weakness for watches. So brought it home.

Question for all you watch guys:
Is it worth investing in watches? Like collecting them but also using them as an investment piece? If so, what brands or watches are good for that?
There are watches that are considered investment quality, but like many other collectibles, prices were recently at a high point and still have a long way to fall - so now is probably not the time to buy (though better than a year ago).Originally posted by psycoticclown

Generally look for something of a limited edition (<1000 pieces) that is in a precious metal (gold or platinum). At the same time, be careful of too many variations on a certain theme. It can sometimes dilute the model and some editions that would usually be considered limited can become forgettable (ie. some of the AP Royal Oak OS). Many makers might have a relatively common model in stainless that they make very limited editions in platinum or gold; depending on exclusivity, these would be the ones to buy.

I got to stop going to Calgary Jewellery.
Walked out with this today. There was almost a year waiting list for this watch.
cheers,
How much was it (if you don't mind me asking)?
Like the white face. I have an SA too, just through it on a custom 24mm strap that I had laying around from a PAM and it completely changes the feel of the watch!Originally posted by ICEBERG

Thanks for the great comments guy's.
Just one question i have for you though. I have about a 8" wrist and was wondering if i can pull of wearing this watch? The dealer is willing to trade it in for something else if i am not happy with it. Honestly i love the watch but wondering if you guy's think SA might be too big for me. I know it is a personal preference but what do you guy's think? Here is couple wrist shots.
cheers,

I know big watches are the latest trend....but I personally don't like it when the overall length of the watch causes the lugs to extend past the wrist.
Its on the edge of too big IMHO. I think the white face compounds this. I have a similar sized wrist but the blue face and I think it wears smaller.
