How do you deal with stupid/ignorant people?

Situation tonight:

Girl told me my car is ugly (Which it is, but I don't see the reason for pointing it out) and then she bragged about she bought her car by herself (~2000 Grand Am).

I didn't even bite. I just said, alright. Seriously, you live at home with your parents and don't have an ounce of responsiblity. If I didn't have to pay rent every month I could get a 'nice' car too, you stupid bitch.

Anyway, how do you deal with these kind of people? Do you just turn around and continue with what you were doing? Or get involved and try and explain to them whats happening.

Sometimes I just don't have the patients.

She was bragging about an '00 Grand Am, gloating that she bought it herself? Aside from the absolute crap that the car really is, I'd point out to her that pontiacs (and most domestics alike) depreciate like no tomorrow and she probably was able to save for it with her spare baby sitting cash. When she enquired about your car, I'd say that you had more productive things to spend your money on and leave it at that.

I'd also laugh at her and tell her that if she's going to brag, she'd be better off making up a lie about having bought an ACTUAL nice car. No worries man, sounds like she's just a vindictive hosebeast. Kudos to you for biting your tounge though.
