Default What am I expected to pay....

I'm looking to buy a wheel and tire combo from wheelsnext. Mainly because shipping is free to Canada, and their price works out to be close to 500 dollars cheaper then if i were to buy it from Canada.

My question is this: Has anyone had a wheel and tire combo shipped to them from an american retailer, and if so, how much duty/border charges did you pay, or how much should i expect to pay?

    Thanks

Here's a quick tip that will Save you CASH... order the rims from the states either off ebay or whatever and ship them to the UPS warehouse at Sweetgrass MT. They charge 5 bucks CAD to warehouse your shipment for 30 days, and you're allowed 3 boxes per shipment, and another dollar for every extra box. Bring your reciept to the border and pay the GST on the rims, and you're home free..... NEVER get anything shipped over the border by UPS, FEDEX, or DHL. They charge brokerage fees that are way more than double the cost of gas to drive to the border and back. Odds are some companies even ship to the 49 States for free..... This should be a sticky somewhere, it'll save us all a lot of money.

Word of warning about buying stuff and getting someone else to pick them up for you.... You MUST have a written piece of paper authorizing so-and-so to import the items and pay GST on them.... They get pissy when you don't have that. I went to the border once to pick up my dad's and my stuff, and when I produced the ebay receipts they wanted that little slip of paper from my dad saying I could import the stuff for him. They let it slip by but I think if you did a group purchase and the importing guy didn't have all his papers, he'd get turned away or he'd get hit with some kind of fine..... Just FYI.
