civic dx vs civic si

I was driving a honda dx tonight, and this guy in a si that was lowerd wanted to race.. he was by him self, and i had 2 people in my car... NO way was this was fair .... he got me of the line, but as i was at the top of first was was pulling on him.. by 2nd i had about a car length, did somebody do something to this civic? how would i tell?

That doesn't seem right. An Si Civic should be able to pull on a DX easily, especially if the DX had 2 passengers...

he probably wasnt shifting at too high of an rpm, whereas you probably were

Actually a simmilar thing happend to me on 9th ave in November. I pulled up beside a 89 supra turbo, and expected to get wasted, but I got him off the line before his turbo spun up. Then at the next lights he spun up the turbo and was ahead by like 1/2 a car but shifted waaaaaay too soon so i continued from first to second, and then third, and then he dicided to take his OWNED "cant drive to save his life" ass somewhere else to pick on some civic dx with 5 people. Guess some people in calgary can buy fast cars, but just can't drive.
