Default A great procedure for anyone who suffers from sinus/allergy problems...

    Hey guys,

my GF just called me after watching an episode of Oprah featuring Dr. Oz, a nose, ear, throat specialist. He recommended for anyone suffering with sinus problems to give yourself a daily nose bidet.

Well I suffer terribly with sinus issues so I gave it a try and well, holy crap, does it ever work! :o

Basically all you do is pour one cup of warm salt water in your nostril while your head is tilted, it will naturally run through your sinuses and out the other nostril. I did this twice, once through each nostril. Don't try sniffing or swallowing while doing this or you may choke, just pour, and it will flow rather easily with no sensation at all.

Here is a great video demonstrating how to do the procedure.

I have a feeling if I pour water in my nose I'll sneeze, choke and die haha. My nose is so sensitive during allergy season, if I slightly touch it, it just sets it off.

This is one of the oldest procedures ever...

Try adding a in a little bit of baking soda in with the salt, helps with the burning.

tried it with a funnel, still works, right after it flows through, its kind of the same sensation as getting water up the nose when you are in the ocean.

it does clear out the sinuses though

    Update:

Londen drugs has these in stock now for $19.99. They're called "NeilMed Nasaflo Neti Pot" and it comes with a bunch of little packages that contain Sodium Chloride and Sodium Bicarbonate mix to put in the water. They keep them behind the counter at the pharmacy so you have to actually go talk to them to get one.

I have brutal sinus problems, sinus pain, sometimes head aches, usually one of my nostrils is 75% stuffed no matter what I do and to make things worse I think i've developed a mild allergy to cats so it makes it even worse. This thing says it helps with allergies and sinus symptoms so i'll bump this again in a week or two and let you guys know if it actually helped.

You can also buy sterile saline solution in a dropper.

3-4 drops in each nostril is usually all you need to moisten the sinus cavities.

If you can go ahead and use the new letterhead for the TPS reports, that would be great.

This isnt to just moisten your sinuses, for a sinus issue like mine where im constantly blowing my nose and its never clear the salt water goes in one side and a lot more than salt water comes out the other side... it probably took a good 30 seconds to do 4oz of water per side..
