    Default God-damned eBay!

I have a feedback issue to resolve, wondering if there is any way to fix it:

Bought a video tripod using the 'Buy It Now' feature. Paid immediately. Seller messed up packaging, sent my stuff to Saskatoon, and I received Saskatoon persons package. Had to pay $25 extra to have my stuff forwarded from Saskatoon.

eBay messaged seller about being reimbursed for additional cost that was there fault. No response for about 2 weeks and about 10 messages.

Gave them warning that I was going to leave negative feedback if I didn't hear from them.

    Left negative feedback.

Today I check and they left me negative feedback saying that I was too impatient, and that the issue had been resolved.

Well, I still haven't heard from them directly. So it's not resolved.

I just think this is a bit of a misuse of the feedback system, as I paid immediately, and was more than patient. Can I have their feedback removed?

I know that there is a joint feedback removal option, so long as both parties agree to do so. In doing so, though, you have your feedback against the seller removed as well. You could use this as a bargaining chip, providing that the seller wants to retain as much positive feedback as possible.

Long story short, you get your money and he loses the negatives. In theory, anyway.

eBay is always fun when it comes to crap like this. Good Luck.

No, feedback cannot be removed. Even if you both remove each others feedback, the comments will stay.

nope, it's called retaliatory feedback, people do it all the time, unfortunately the only way to avoid it is to wait until the last possible say to leave feedback (cant remember, i think it's 45 days) and then they generally wont have a chance to leave feedback for you before it's too late.

he can remove it, if the sellers agrees to, but he can not prevent the seller from leaving a negative as retaliation.

I've replied to the negative feedback, just saying that its clearly an angry buyer leaving a negative out of spite. I'm an awesome ebayer, I pay ASAP, and have never once had negative feedback, so it really pissed me off that they left negative totally just to spite.

You can reply to the feedback again, it goes back and forth twice for every item sold/bought. But welcome to Ebay, they don't have to be a good seller, they just have to make it appear to others they are a good seller. Hence his inappropriate act after you getting in his way of doing that.

The thing that blows me away most, is the seller would NOT reply to my messages, and I didnt hear from them for weeks, but of course, they were very quick to leave negative feedback.

Plus, I have about 47 feedbacks overall, all positive, except for this one. So, with the one negative feedback, I went from 100% to 97.5 %. He has over 39,000 feedback, so my negative didnt affect his rating.

He's obviously using it as a business, so I wouldnt have expected it to be so unprofessional.

Can't you ask for mutual feedback withdrawal?

That's why I think the feedback system doesn't do fuck all. Buyers like you and I are hit worst with a negative feedback compared to the sellers like the one you dealt with. Even though to begin with the fault was all his.
