Nokia 6265i .... Cant use my own Mp3 as ringtones?

I loaded some MP3's onto my new cell, and it wont let me put them as ringtones! I even used the Nokia software to convert them, and transfer them over, but I get the message

"Cannot Be Set as Ringing Tone"

I'm thinking this is some scam by Telus that only the MP3's I buy from them can be set as ringtones.... anyone have any experience cracking this?

i have done it
you need a program called "DIEGO" which is THE biggest pain in the ass to download and find the crack etc
and you need a cable as well. it goes from the phone to USB port
ebay has them for like $10
then you have to fiddle with deigo

i used torrents to get diego and it downloaded it first time.

once downloaded and installed you have to edit the PRI (using a DKU-2 or CA-53 cable) to accept not DRM ringtones and walla

cant you just use the usb, open the folder, go into ring tones, and place mp3 ones that u have made in there, i did that with my chocolate, whenever i would try to set my ring tones, it wouldn't let me

Ok, First, use Audacity to edit the mp3 down to 30 seconds, and then export it as a .wav

Then, use the DRM packager to ADD Drm to that file. It will create a new file, with DRM. Transfer the DRM file to phone, and VOILA! It works great!

Lol I could have told you that..your best bet is to use the program mentioned earlier just remeber before you do anything to save your original PRL first, in case anything goes wrong you can put the original PRL back on the phone.
