    Default Struck by Lightning

    You might have heard about it on the radio/news. Friend's house got struck by lightning last night.
    Some images to hopefully show you the extent of the damage. Keep in mind it has been raining non-stop since last night. It is going to be on the news (at 6pm tonight) CBC, GLOBAL, and CityTV. If someone could PLEASE record the 6oclock GLOBAL news that would be greatly appreciated. I will pay you back the cost of the materials used/come pick it up. Thanks in advance and have a safe week.

    Holy peanut-butter sandwiches batman!

    Hope their okay, at least it didn't burn to the ground. It looks like they would be able to salvage most of the really important things (photo's, keepsakes, family stuff etc). Insurance will take care of the rest presumably.

    I just watched the global news report and yes there was people in the house while this happened. No one was hurt but apparently they were playing poker in the living room when it happened. CRAZY!

    I dont know if all that destructio was created simply by the lightning strike. My guess is the lightning created a fire which burt holes into the roof allowing water and other debris to flow in causing the majorit of the destruction, but thats just my guess, maybe the OP can fill us in. Either way that sucks big time, all the best to the family in getting their lives back to normal.

    not sure about home owners insurance but doesn't it cover things like "act's of gods" like flooding and other stuff?
