I really dont like the exhaust being that close to the rear tire.... In fact that dump is down right scary....what if you started spitting out oil???

haha. Its not very likely that you would actually be getting a fair amount of unburnt liquid oil out the tail pipe, but if you did you would certainly be down for the count.

I think its a very sexy bike. i love the ktm dual sport line, always kicks ass in dakar, but i didnt realize they could build such a nice sport bike. does anyone have the specs?

LC8 V-twin that displaces 990 CC and makes around a 100 bhp, for now.

    Engine: KTM LC8 engine
    Displacement: 999.8cc
    Frame: Tubular chromoly space frame
    Dry weight: approx. 175 kg
    Transmission: 6 gears, dog-clutch engagement
    Top speed: 280 km/h

    * Just a concept though

100 hp will not break 300 kmh. My 11 year old bike puts out an honest 104 at the rear wheel and it will not hit that speed. Besides, you have got to be able to hang on to it at speed.

    300...not likely.

The Busa and big Kaw will do it, (or so I have been told by guys who claim to have done so) but those bikes are 500 lbs of stability.

I do love the KTM. I have been looking at their Duke with covetous longing. Good to see a non Italian/German Euro sportbike.

I doubt it. In 1998 there was a gentlemen's agreement between some of the biggest manufacturers out there. This agreement limits production bikes to 186MPH. supposedly triumph did not take part in the agreement and they are working on a busa-killer.

Well, here's to Triumph. There is a market for the extreme bikes like their 2000+ cc cruiser, and a Busa killer. Fact is, even most experienced guys would not use that type of power.
There are the exceptions - we all know one or two of them. Often we eventually attend their funerals.

this is true...I find that a similar sentiment for those whom ride big block powered harleys....has anyone ever tried to throw the block of one of those engines around? weighs about as much as a raced 600...

    Texas:
I have owned two HD FL series bikes and the centre of gravity on those bikes is low. The big HD's are actually very nimble - really! It doesn't look it, does it.

Now the FX series Softail; there is an awkward bike to ride. Add some hi bars, and you end up looking like a rolling crucifiction scene.

Perhaps the most difficult to ride bikes I have ever has was my KZ1000 Kaw (It felt like there was a hinge in the frame) and another Kawasaki, an H1 triple 2 stroke 500cc (it weaved and wobbled and was prone to scary tankslappers)

Sorry man, I thought you were quoting me...Im stooooopid...
I think the worst ride I have been on was a Zx-12 (2000) It was so heavy I even dropped it at 1 km/h when I tapped the front brake, and no llie, I could not stop it from hitting the ground, 4000 dollars later...it was a bike again.
