Exotic tree woods

Anyone know of some exotic tree woods?

I hear a lot about African Ebony, teak and the like but I'm not sure what makes them so unique.

Hard to find/work with??

I dunno but I can talk to my godfather he's a very extremely experienced wood worker. He's been working around wood doing custome house interiors for about 35 years he should have some input

I know birds eye maple used to be the big one back in NS.. Big $$$ if you find one of them growing on your property in good shape... Theres tons of different types of wood though, and many can be made to look great... depends on what you want to do with it..
