Stolen Tires $500 reward

Posting for a friend:

My truck was sitting out front of National transmission in Crowfoot, when the tires were removed and the truck was left on blocks.
$500 reward for information to the arrest of these thiefs.

Tires are 38.5 X 14.5 R15
TSL Super Swamper sx
on silver painted rims.

man oh man. I was wondering what that truck way doing there without tires. I went by today to get an oilchange; didn't think much of it at the time, but that sucks for sure.
I'd post some pics man.

Isn't National Transmission responsible? Perhaps they have insurance for that I'm not sure.

They are refusing, and he doesn't have comprehensive on the truck.

So hence the reward.

someone correct me if im wrong but i don't think they can refuse since they were working on the truck and it was in their hands

Have you checked around the area and seen if there are any cameras pointing in that direction/area? Maybe another business might have some footage of the people making off with the tires.

back again to the 3 C's of responsibility. Care Custody and Control.

the automotive shop had all 3, hence if something happens to the vehicle while in thier care custody and control, they are liable.

THEY had the keys to the vehicle, it was at THIER shop, and hence it was in THIER posession.

They could have parked the vehicle in one of thier bays overnight, which would have prevented the theft, but chose not to.

Explain this to them, and if they still refuse, pull out your cell phone and give your lawyer a call. When things get set into motion like this, the shop will be responsible for a new set of tires, as well as your lawyers legal fees.

having said the above, if your friend parked the vehicle there, and dropped the keys through the mail slot overnight, then the shop is not liable, as they have not accepted care, custody or control of the vehicle yet.
