RB 20 weird problem

Hey guys my buddy has a 240 sx with an rb20det in it and it has been running just fine for about a year and a half, but lately he has been having a slight issue, whats hapening is when he goes hard on the throttle he gets like slight murmers, what feels like an air pocket or something, also unless you really give it gas it will only hit 5psi as opposed to the normal 9 he usually runs. I dont know too much about turbo as i have only worked with SC systems but i did see that his Down pipe is like 3/4" from the ground as he has dropped the car significantly low, and the flex pipe under there looks like it has some wear. Could this problem be a boost leak due to the Down pipe? Or do you think it is more of a fuel problem? Any ideas fellas?

maybe theirs a boost leak somewhere? if he has an intercooler with silicone couplers theirs a good chance they are leaking. I have to tighten mine up once a month or so.

Im pretty sure he has the silicone couplers on his IC piping, ill get him to check that out. thanks. I was thinking that it is a boost leak, but at the same time i thought that maby its a fuel issue, i know on my eclipse my fuel pump gasket was cracked and the warlbro wasnt pushing enought pressure for the fuel leading to my car having similar "air pocket" symptoms while under boost and while turning. I guess ill just check over his whole turbo set up and make sure everytrhing is tight and secure. Thanks again.

how does the troubleshooting sound like?? while its making da sound .. do u notice any difference in the cars performance?
