Spec V is slow tho...I would go the RSX-S Route, or a 20th anni GTI.Originally posted by ecstasy_civic

1.8t golf...type-s...MP 5...your could probably squeeze in as GTS for about 35...mmmm...all these cars are nice...you would have to drive each to find your preference...no matter what anybody tells you, you should drive them all!
oh ya...that new Mazda turbo..cant remember what its called...but they look cool!
Scratch up the extra $1k and get a WRX. Fast, decent handling, lots of go fast goodies available, reliable, safe and fantastic for year round driving.
Drag racing is for fast cars. Solo 2 is for fast drivers.
Isn't a WRX $36K + tax? I think this guy wants $35K including everything.Originally posted by 4wheeldrift

I test drove the Type S, and was only really impressed with the gear box and the amenities it came with.
I test drove the Mazdaspeed Protege and was impressed with the handling, stereo system, looks and handling. The seats suck though. I didn't even take that hard of a turn and I was sliding all over the place.
My brothers own a 2002 Spec V and I like it a lot. It looks nice, has a lot of torque and is fairly cheap. Only problem is that the 2004's don't look that nice.
The Celica GT-S's for 2004 got dissed in the Sun last sunday.
Spec-V is really bang for your buck, but it is a sentra..so you give up stuff like a nice interior. I'd pick the RSX-S if I could, but if I'm paying for it, I'd rather have the Spec and 8 grand.
If you are looking in ballpark of 35 grand to spend on a car, I'd go for something better that you will be happier with. Unless you really don't care about stuff like interior and 'status'.

rsx-s for sures. not another car in the price range that has everything that the s does
Accord coupe 6 speed - all around
SRT4 - quicker than a wrx
2.5RS wagon - reliability, practicality
20th anniversary GTI - great performer, great all around compact
Jetta or golf TDI - decent performance, amazing fuel economy
mustang gt - potential,

1.8T golf for sure... imo much better package than the rsx-s
Yeah, its not as fast and all that (i know there will be a ton of people commenting on that) But it is a nice car with good build quality and great tunability. Both cars are very good for the money.Originally posted by littledan

better how? cause it is not as fast even with mods, it does not handle as good, interior is not as good, and resale goes to the type s. The only thing you might have is looks and that is personal.
Whats easier to mod, a RSX or a Turbo VW?

Definitely RSX-S! I still want one haha
The WRX is closer to $40k, depending how much you bargain off.

1.8T's are easy mod, chip, intake, exhaust and that's like 50hp but FD still ran 15.9Originally posted by Toms-Celica
