Do furniture stores "Price Beat" or "Price Match"?

I realize price match / beat is generally more for things like electronics but I finally found a coffee table that i'm looking for. Went to the manufacturer website and called every local retailer in Calgary who carries that particular brand. Does anyone know or has successfully had a furniture store price beat another store?

Markup on furniture is crazy. Im sure if you talk to them about getting a deal they can afford to cut the price down a little.

ive successfully price matched at the brick and leons and i think it was united furniture warehouse that did it once too. Most other small shops or independtly owned ones wont do it unless you talk them into a sale and then tell them why should i buy it from you if this place has it cheaper...basically waste their time then dont buy it hah

Yah, the table i'm looking at is available at:
- Home Evolution
- Bondar's
- Kilian
- Koolhaus
- Finesse Home Living (Edmonton).

They're all definitely not as big as say a Brick, United or Leon's - so I think it'll be tough....but as one person said, never hurts to try.

what tavbe is it? Is it one of the modern classics? If do you can shop the price around.
