Nice. How old is your son and what is generally the age people tend to recommend to start learning guitar? (My oldest is a few months shy of 6)

Nice. Is that a smaller scale guitar, (e.g. dinky minion)?

Bumping this thread to get insight, would yall suggest getting actual lessons for a beginner? Or is a site like Justin Guitar/Guitar tricks/Yousician a good way to start?

If lessons is the way to go, who would you recommend for adult lessons? Any insight is appreciated.

Of course this is going to differ from person to person, I've never found the online videos to be all that helpful. Though I've only looked at whatever is available on youtube.
Kinda always looked at the videos more like a 'theory' class, which is great n all but it's only a fraction of what one needs to be "good".

I would say while you definitely don't need to get proper lessons, you will however thank yourself for it much further down the line.
Learning the proper way to begin with will make a huge difference, not only because you won't have to unlearn bad habits, or at least not as many. But also because technique is such an extremely important part so you don't play in a manner that will result in some injuries down the line.
There is no replacement for having a knowledgeable teacher looking at your playing and giving advice based on what they see and hear.

Though now I guess online personal lessons is a thing too, just you will need a webcam.

A Ferrari is a high maintenance chick, you spend money regardless of what you do with her. You can baby the C63, or slap on all seasons, and you won't be spending anything but yearly maintenance. Of course that's like dating a stripper and refusing to fuck her, which would make you gay.

F*ck yes. Been eyeing up a Rhodes for some time meow. Been playing tons lately and getting back playing in a band again ( always play in bands since I was a kid ) fun fact played with Raj in the now defunct Beyond band which was actually quite good. Him being dead and all has really stalled his progress on guitar and his ability to get us back together ....

We could do a reunion concert in his honor!

    May he rest in peace.

I’ve also been looking for a Rhoads but they discontinued the model I was looking at (hardtail with EMG’s). Hopefully they release a replacement model at NAMM when Jackson releases their new models.

I can probably get through these songs once before my throat rips itself out and storms off in protest.

I am sure that can be arranged Indont mind sticking to the Kerry King parts. Will also stick to the Hetfield guitar parts. More of a rhythm / some not so crazy lead parts. Insane solos and arpeggios just aren’t my thang ...
