Ugh. Both my friends who are into SxDx are at work in the US until May. Otherwise, I'd definitely be there.

Finally got the new bass in today. (It was that guitar in question from that ebay thread I made in the general section).
    (The one on the top)

Its quite nice! Tone is great and it plays really well. Quite happy with it. I should make a vid with me playing some of them.

Man that Conklin 7 string is almost twice as heavy as the Schecter.
WOW. bad idea to make it out of Swamp ash. Thats a lot of bass, leave alone when its made of the heaviest wood you can find.

^Wow. Takes talent to play a bass that has more strings than your average guitar. Nice looking units!

@JamMembers - I'll be there at 3PM. Haven't played drums (aside the lap drums) since we met last.

Thanks Surprised you never seen the 7string before. I could have sworn I bought it over those few times I jammed with you guys. Hmmm.. must have been the 5 string then.
Man I thought you were M.Alex for a second with your avatar.

I was thinking; since when does he play an instrument?

Any of you guys try the new EB cobalt strings yet? I read a pretty decent review on them online.

A Ferrari is a high maintenance chick, you spend money regardless of what you do with her. You can baby the C63, or slap on all seasons, and you won't be spending anything but yearly maintenance. Of course that's like dating a stripper and refusing to fuck her, which would make you gay.

Has anyone tried out a lesson from bandhappy.com yet? I am considering trying it out but I cannot freaking decide who I would like for a teacher?

It's an awesome idea. So many good artists too!!

For any of you Pink Floyd / David Gilmour fans, I came across this really cool site that gets into every minute detail of his playing and sound. There is also some decent backing tracks that you can jam over. The song Shine on Your Crazy Diamond took my playing to an entirely new level about 12 years ago and I think Gilmour has to be one of the best and most innovative players to walk the earth. I highly recommend learning some PF/Gilmour licks to add to your bag of chops (and also in time for The Wall to come to Calgary in May).
