Find some kind of a lip spoiler instead. Will set your car apart more and not as big and clunky looking as the OEM one.
Get it, the car looks naked without and MUCH better with.
Just ignore shit like this. It's not trying to look like an Evo (that would be gay), it looks like an entry level sports sedan which is exactly what it is.please don't get the spoiler. I'm embarrased for people when I see their 150horse lancer and are trying to look like an evo.
agreed for going with the lip spoiler, much more low key. Last time I checked, a sports sedan should be uum 'sporty'?? I usual at least relate sporty to 'quick'. At the same time, I have a beef to pick with lancers since I dont feel mitsubishi made them powerful enough for the styling (hate away). To each his(or her) own. Get someone to PS a pic with the spoiler on and then YOU decide whether or not you like it, cuz when it comes down to it its really not what any of us bored people at work think, and especially not about people sitting at home with nothing better to do think!
The lip spoiler could be a good idea depending on how it looks, I haven't personally seen it.
And JGerke, I know what you're saying. But they are nice, reasonably quick and sporty handling cars to drive. Much better than the competition IMO (I've driven them all, and the Lancer has a sporty, "special" feeling to it).
And the new ones are arguably one of the best looking sedans ever. Reminds me of a compact, muscular, better looking TSX.
As far as the cars power not living up to the styling, you can't really hold that against it because it looks good. You've also got to keep in mind that it looks that way because the Lancer family also has the Evo, and an AWD 200+ HP RalliArt is coming. No one would buy those if they looked boring.
But like JGerke said, that's just my opinion FWIW.
lip spoiler!
looking for one for my Lancer right now, it's tough to find one with the 3rd brake light already installed
I like things with wheels.

It was around 115hp for the base and OZ.
we're both wrong, it was 120Originally posted by QuasarCav

anyways, I think a lip spoiler would be great on the car...

being wrong by 5hp is a lot different than being wrong by 30hpOriginally posted by reiRei

did the weight of the car increase dramatically between gens or stay about the same?
Every time I see one with the spoiler im like ooh new evo X then im like ... wait a minute its not out yet sigh... But at least your not considering putting like a STI whale fin on the back of your car like some wrx owners
Just get the spoiler it adds a different look to the car, like its more powerful then it is
not sure about what the past one was, but today when I was looking for the color code it said just a hair over 2000 Lb (2200 ish)
I haven't found a lip spoiler that I like, and a guy pulled up to me in one with the spoiler and the same color and I really liked how it balanced it out as someone said. So i ordered it, will be here tuesday.
Also I got the RRM exhaust to give it a bit better sound and nicer rear look. I adds something like 3 hp and no loss of Tq but I dont really care it is mostly for the look
Cos...

Your car should weigh over 2800lbs.
More like 2937 lbs...Originally posted by QuasarCav

200lbs is a lot. Put a fat ass in the back seat and see how slow your car gets... hahaha

2,922 lbs. (DE w/ 5-speed) to 3,109 lbs. (GTS w/ CVT)
according to autotrend. I figured they would be heavier since ythey appear to be a rather large vehicle. also suprised they use a different motor (9less hp) for the cali market...well...not that suprised.
