    XM has NHL

Sirius has Howard Stern and NFL.

    That is the basic difference

I have Sirius and have not had any problems. I paid for a lifetime membership, it is the best deal if you can afford the $600.00 hit. I know XM has the NHL, but everytime I have tried, I have been able to hear the flames on Sirius.

I got Sirius because of Stern, Maxim radio, and Playboy radio. Music is great, but what keeps you awake on a long road trip, is listening to hilarious talk radio. Did the trick when I drove from Tofino to Calgary the other week (17.5 hours, in one day). The only time I lost signal was through the tunnels in the rockies.

Have to say I love it. I got the portable Stilleto 10, there was a deal on it recently, I made a thread about it somewhere.
Basically from Radio Shack it was $150 for radio, car kit, antenna head phones, and 2 batteries (2hour and 4hour), after rebate/gas card. Could still be on.

I didn't get the "lifetime" subscription, because it's only for the "lifetime" of the radio you buy, if you want to transfer it to another radio it'll cost you $70 each time. So if you plan on keeping the same radio for over 3 years, it's worth it, but I'm sure in that time they'll have come out with a better radio you'll want (for instance they're planning a Sirius TV/radio), or you may have gotten a car with sirius ready head unit, so you don't need the bulky/ugly dashboard setup.

Can't speak for XM, everyone I know with satellite radio has Sirius. I do know they were trying to merge not long ago, it may still be happening.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

I also have sirius and would say its worth every penny. Before I bought satelite radio, I signed up for a 3day trial of sirius and XM (on the internet). For the type of music I listen to, it seemed like XM played alot of songs over and over again. Id suggest going to each website and doing a 3day trial, and see which one you like better.

The only dissapointment ive had is one of the channels only streams on the internet, you cant listen to it in your car. Channel 50 I think...

All you need to do is try both stations online (free) for the trial periods they offer. You can decide from there which one you like better. I like Sirius far more, but its your personal opinion.

Personally I enjoy the music on XM, so i chose them.
The reception has some static from time to time... but it is a MERE nothing, especially if you have your antenna correctly placed.

I sell Sirius at probably a 40:1 ratio to XM. No joke. I can't remember the last time somebody asked for XM.

Go check out the Siruis and XM boards ( I have the url on my other computer) and see what the users have to say. Some have switched from one to the other.

I have XM. When I am in Fort Mac reception isn't great. In a big city should be fine. Contents would be a matter of preference.
