    Default vigilante street racers

ok, i was driving home in my car just now and pulled up next to a VW golf or jetta, not sure i don't really know VW. so yeah, i kinda expect this guy to put on some beef, especially from what i'm driving. so i give the car a kick at the start, but am not gonna go past the speed limit. after 60, the guy just keeps going, that car has very good torque mind you and i swear to god, he gave me the finger!
you god damn "vigliante street racer", take it to the track, and let's see who's gonna be lifting their middle fingers.

ok so you raced him but didn't exceed the speed limit? So because you didn't exceed the speed limit your not a street racer? Am I the only one who doesn't see the logic in this?
You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

i wasn't racing him in the first place! i had no intention to or anything. i was driving home for god's sake.
the thing is that he gave me the finger thinking he owned my ass or something.

Sure sounds like you were trying to egg on a race...

nobody was "egging" on the race, simply because their is no race. my car is just fast off the mark, if i was really serious about racing i would've got past 3rd gear....
i don't race on the streets cause i think it's stupid.
i've already got 3 tickets for just going like 20 over the limit.
i'm not gonna lose my license.
and I GOT FINGERED for it.

Nah, not racing. Call it... a strategic investigation.

IMO, racing is anything on the road that breaks laws. If you're under the speed limit, not squeelin' tires, wippin' through lanes and drivin' like a moron, it's not racing. The minute you start breakin' road laws... then it's racing. You can egg someone on all you want, but in the end, if they decide to take you and blaze off at 150, then that's their fault. They're the racer. It's the whole "If someone told you to jump off a cliff, would you do it" argument. If buddy chooses to haul ass past the speedlimit, then let him jump the cliff.

Legally, that's still a street race regardless of whether you speed or not. If it's a contest of speed in any way, it's street racing.

So if I make a lane change without signalling, does that mean I was street racing?

    Or maybe, if I do a U-Turn?

Hell, how about if I don't come to a complete stop at a stop sign?

I don't really give a shit what you think is "racing".

Rather, I care what Mr Police Officer thinks is "racing".
