Totem Appliance Service??? Just don't use Trail Appliances.... It's been three months and I am still waiting for a part on my brand new cooktop that they broke when delivering it, they claim it's on back-order from Bosch and that the part has to come from Germany (their appliances are made in USA) yet when I called Bosch they said it's in stock in Edmonton and they could ship it to me next day.......If the fridge is more than 5 years old it would be cheaper and quicker to just buy a new one.
A&P Appliance service on Northmount Drive N.W. Phone 220-9822
They can usually fix you up.
But if your compressor is done then you might as well get a new fridge. ( I just went through this last week )
I aint no junky.... I just keep it funky
Thanks, I'll give them a try.Originally posted by funkytuqe

Is there an easy way to tell if it's the compressor, before i spend a pile of money calling someone out and end up having to buy a new one?
You could try to pull your fridge out, clean up all the dust in the back with a vacuum. If there is a fan cooling the compressor, make sure it is working ok. you can also try to unpulg your fridge and let it defrost for 2 or 3 hours with the doors open and then plug it back in, sometimes that works too.

What is exactly wrong with your fridge? How old is it? I used to be an appliance repairman so I might not what is wrong with it. More than likely the compressor like the other guy said, and also like he said, cheaper to buy new. I deal only with Atlas Appliances on the frontage road that runs parallel with Blackfoot just north of 58th Ave in the SW.
there are always fridges for sale on used calgary if your willing to go that route.
Sears outlet at Deerfoot has good deals sometimes as well.
I used A&P... great service, I'd use them again.
I wasn't home at the time, so I don't know exactly what it was he replaced... but it was a small cylindrical part that costs ~$30.
