Street race may result in charges
Vancouver Police are looking for a driver who fled the scene of what appears to have been a street-racing crash Sunday night.
Witnesses in the area say the drivers of a Subaru WRX and a Mercedes were racing when the driver of the Subaru lost control and crashed into two other vehicles.
Officers who responded to the crash at W. 49th Avenue and Tisdall Street say it is a miracle no one was seriously hurt.
The 24-year-old driver of the Subaru was taken into custody, questioned and has been released. No charges have been laid, but the investigation is ongoing.
The driver of a Jeep struck by the Subaru was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes is wanted for questioning.
Police say debris were scattered far and wide at the crash scene, indicating an intense impact.
"High speed is certainly an issue here," said Sgt. Mark Graf of Vancouver Police.
