I was in there a week or 2 ago and he was telling me how hes moving into a new location where he can better accomadate his customers. Pretty sure he mentioned it was right by the safeway downtown, again I don't know for sure but that could be the reason he closed temporarily.

i'm one of many that want you to stop bumping this lame thread.

the novelty is over man, and time has shown that this place doesn't live up to the expectations or the reputation you are trying to create.

crappy service, inconsistent product. there are better places to go for pizza in calgary.

I'm a big fan of luis, and I love his pizza, but bumping this thread without something new to say is getting a bit old.

I'd say anyone on beyond who cares about pizza has already read this thread.

Hey Folks,

I won't bump this thread again without anything to contribute because I understand it isn't fair to other threads.

I have tried to call Vogglio's for quite a while, but I haven't had time to stop by there. Does anybody know if there is a sign on his door saying anything or has anything heard anything?

I hope he hasn't closed his doors because I really like his pizza. Thanks for the info!

I drove past last night. The sign said open but the lights were off in the back and the counter had around 15 framed photos standing on it. Who knows.

I wouldnt be suprised, im sure he made a lot of money at first from the influx of beyond customers + word of mouth, but when you go back for your second time its 9/10 your last time. Too inconsistant.

Missing Toppings, Overcharged, Long Wait Times etc.

I've been making my own pizzas lately, and they have been tasting excellent.

I don't think i'll be going back to Vogglio

you know honestly the 15 or so times i've been there i've only been affected by the last one, long wait times, i have never had the wrong toppings/pizza or been over charged, has been consistently the same, for that i'm willing to deal with the wait times, just i dont hang out downtown as much as i used to now

but if he shut down that sucks, i woulda wanted one last taste if i knew ahead of time, if not then i better pay a visit and freeze some lol. j/k it's only good from the moment you buy it till.. dinner the next day lol

I enjoyed the pizza for the first few months. The last few times I went, they were prepared by the new guy and were not up to Vogglio standards. It was very disappointing.

Mabey it's been brought up, but i did a quick search and couldn't find it.

Anway, this pizza joint has been included in the 2008 "Cheap Eats Calgary" by John Gilchrist. That's pretty cool, handy book if you don't have it.

Lol, man am I the only lucky one? ive gone to Luis only like... 10+ times in the last year and a half. Never have I ever had inconsistant services, always just like a 20 min wait, always just about done when i get there, and on top of that, he offers free slices once in awhile to let people try new pizzas.

Where is the new location? Online yellowpages still show the old address and I checked the last few pages and there's no mention of a new address. "Down by Safeway" is a bit vague.....

I think people are too uptight. Whether or not it's the best pizza in the CITY is debateable, but the OP started this thread with the intent to share a legitimately GOOD pizza place that he discovered. Kudos to him for bringing it to people's attention.
