Default Horrible Gas Milliage w/ GSR

    I have 92 GSR with 229k km
Just had the timing belt replaced along with the water pump and new muffler
car seemed to be running great

i filled the car up last week and only got 9km/L and again the same thing this week!!

i'm not driving hard at all.
rev are low when idling under 1Grand in neutral.
in town driving so i know that the millage wont be as good as highway.
was was getting close to 550km/tank now 340km/ tank.

    what should i check?
    what do you guys get?
    what could be wrong?

Your timing belt may be out a tooth or 2, this can, in some case either increase or decrease your mileage and yet the car will still run well.

your o2 sensor might be on its way out. I would also check for a clogged fuel filter along with what was said above....

Have your driving habits changed at all? Anything over 400kms for my GS-R is good and my car is all tuned up.

I would check the usual maintenence items first though.

heh heh I had a thread like this not too long ago.

This is what I did and am in the middle of checking to see if it helped any on my 99 GS

    - Changed Spark Plugs (NGK Iridium)
    - Changed Spark Plug Wires (NGK)
    - Changed Air Filter (OEM)
    - Changed Distributor Cap and Rotor (OEM)
    - Changed Oil and Oil Filter

Still going to change the Fuel Filter

I also had a 4 wheel alignment done and checked the tire pressure.

    Other things to check
    - O2 Sensors
    - Fuel Injectors

From what I have read tire pressure, air filter, and spark plugs are some of the bigger factors for mileage. Check those first
