There are wasps nesting inside one of my outdoor airvents. I want to take them out before they find a way through the air ducts. Anyone know a good way to remove them safely (safe for me)? any information is good.
Thanks!

called a bug bomb, basically pull the pin put it in the duct and then it releases.. killing them aLL :P haha!!
BUT... if there is a possibility of this gettin in your house, not a good idea.... get a bee suit and pull it out??
You can go to Rona and buy a Wasp spray.. We had the same thing happen to us... At like midnight , go spray all the holes and they will all die..

Propane torch+Pole=success.
Point it at the hole in the bottom of the nest. All wasps will fall out onto awaiting tarp/garbage bag/etc. Nest will slowly smolder itself off house.

aerosol bug spray and a lighter man, but be careful
and if you can block the airduct before you do it
Slapshot de-greaser(Brakleen might work too). For some reason you hit a wasp with that stuff they fall out of mid air(dead). My old man found this out working on the tractor. Then I tried, Its simply amazing they drop right out of the air and curl up.
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
wow yeah im not going to try anything that can burn my house down... the duct is for the second floor of the house so its not too easy to get near... if i use chemicals id have to find a way so that i dont get it in the house too... i wish i had a bee suit.

we had a wasp nest in our dryer vent a couple summers ago.
just buy some wasp spray and that'll take care of it. make sure to tape a screen or something on the vent for a while so any that didn't die don't go back.
we didn't have a bee suit, so we improvised one as best we could. loose fitting clothes, gloves, seal all the seams.
Do it at night, they will all be in the nest.
Wear thick clothing. Double layer yourself. Jeans + Sweatpants + TShirt + Sweater = Poor mans body armor. Wear a balaclava too.

Big winter jacket there is no way they can get through that!
I'd stick a pole in and spray with a wasp spray or light it up like a chistmas tree!
I ride bikes so I've done the full leather-helmet-necktube trick haha

Just knock it down and run inside and wait a bit. The spray works good if any of them are hanging around the nest.

Bug spray them. Get it at Home Depot/Rona/Canadian Tire. There are foam ones and just liquid ones I think. With these sprays you can stand a good distance from them and just spray. After spraying wait about 30 minutes and get the hive out and drown it in a tub of water. Make sure you cover up exposed skin well.
fire extinguisher?
when I was younger we always used to throw rocks and hose them haha good times
