Default Winter Tires for a 335i?

    Hi everyone,

Just picked up my E92 335i on Saturday and am already looking in to getting some winter tires.
After some research looks like I need some 225/40 VR/18 tires.
What does everybody recommend and where do you recommend buying them?
Are places like tirerack.com cheap even with the shippping and duty or is there somewhere local that is better.

    All help is appreciated.

Chill and enjoy the rest of summer bro

You should see sales for winter tires in mid September and early October, and can easily save a hundred bucks or so if you wait until then. I'm getting the Hankook Icebear W300's this year, as they are a good, solid, middle of the road snow tire. You can also look into the Michelin X-Ice, but I've found that for the $200 more they'll cost you, they don't outperform the Hankooks. I got quoted $160/tire installed, balanced, tax from Tirecraft on the Hankooks.

We have a few different 225/40/18 winter options on back order for delivery in September.

I still haven't decided which brand/model to use on my E90 335i but I will probably go with Pirelli since they are run-flats. If you don't care about run-flats I think the Blizzak LM-25 and Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 are the best options

Rob what sort of price per wheel are we looking at for that size of winter tire? Tirerack.com has them at $165-$195 USD per wheel.

All things considered (exchange, duty, freight, brokerage) our prices will be right in line with theirs plus we can mount them for you.

As soon as the snow hits and you are stuck on flat ground you will remember to get some winter tires

If I don't use run flats for winter will the TPM light just stay lit all winter?

NO! The tires don't have any effect on the light.

Rob for some of the brands I know they are on back order.
How much time do you need on my end before they would be here in town.

    Much appreciated.

Ps- It was I who e-mailed you and Bobby the other day from my work account! Haha

Tough to say but we already have all the top brands/models on back order so they will arrive ASAP. It is a safe bet that there will be plenty of options at our shop before the snow actually sticks
