Was thinking about bringing one of these in from japan but i have been able to find very little information on the car. what kind of engine is in it, how does it preform, what should i look out for? the only real info I have been able to find is on the newer models that just came out. Thanks for anyone who has any help.

    Looks decent but how much?
How much HP does it have?

With some custom wheels and some redesign of the dash, it could look real nice.

I believe it's a Ford Kent Crossflow engine. You can just make out the Ford logo on the last picture. It's a pushrod I4.

You might as well get a nice JDM engine to go with it too. Big car like that needs at least 300rwhp. Also easier to get parts.

I don't think parts are a big deal. They sell these things as kit cars, there are a few Canadian companies out east that build them and tons in the US. I see them around Calgary all the time.

You don't need a big engine for that car. They're so light that even a 200 rwhp engine would make you fly.

Your an idiot. Just cuz a car doesn't have 300hp doesn't mean its not smoking fast. Those things are essentially a light lotus elise. Super lightweight car with a reasonably powerful motor equals super fast. These things handle like no tomorrow as well. no point adding a massive heavy motor.

So let me get this straight: The SR is a "massive heavy motor" compared to an iron block 2 valve pushrod Ford I4 that is basically the same one used in the 1970s Ford Pinto?

It's a serious question, I don't actually know the weights off hand, but it doesn't sound right to me. I never really thought of the SR as being a "massive heavy motor"

Although it doesn't sound like a bad idea.....
