Hey guys,
A shower in my place needs replacing, the hot water has gotten to a point where it has basically stopped running at all. I got a plumber in to take a look and he said that the piping is old, the cartrige is old, etc. Fixing it will probably cost around $1500, and he'd have to remove a section of tiling to access the pipe.
I just bought the place back in March, and have never really liked how the tub/shower looked. It's very early 80s-ish. I figure cause they're going to need to rip out some tiles anyway, that it might be a good idea to just rip out the entire tub/shower and get it completely redone.
I was thinking of replacing the tub/shower and the old tiling and installing a steam shower. My friend has one and he hyped it up. Basically it'd need to be re-tiled and it'd be sealed in by a glass wall. There are two small glass benches that you can sit on, with a steam generator under one of the benches. And a shower head, of course, for normal showers.
Who would you guys recommend to do such an installation? And what price range am I looking at to have it done? Any help/direction would be great. Thanks!
