Police bust violent street gang
The Calgary Police Service says it has busted-up one of the most violent street gangs in the city.
This is the first time in the police’s history that a gang has been dismantled.
After a 10-month investigation, 18 people have been arrested and charged with a number of drug and weapons offences.
Police seized six handguns and over 400 rounds of ammunition.
Three children were also apprehended under the Drug Endangered Children’s Act.
Police say 14 of the people charged are either gang members or gang associates.
Members of the gang have allegedly been involved in two shootings in the Calgary area.
One member has been charged in connection with a shooting in Taradale in March.
Police have now issued a warrant for Horace Oliver Pennant, 30.
They say Pennant is linked to the gang and wanted for a number of firearms offenses.
