gotta cover my ass over stolen car audio while car at shop

hey all.... so i had my car in the shop and a tech there accidentally smashed the passenger window... so they were going to replace it free.

Well when i went by there one day i noticed my car sitting outside.... with no window... in their lot.

Now when i went to pick up my car today i noticed my sub had been stolen and they also made an attempt at my amps... some of the wires were unplugged and now my speakers are not working.

NOW... when i picked it up i only noticed the sub was gone... didnt notice the amps had been touched till i got home (was wondering why speakers were not working right).

They said to buy a new sub and give them the reciept and they would pay me back, but now i must call them and tell them the amp is fried and the speakers arent working.

Should i be getting anything in writing just in case they try to screw me over?

It definitely would not hurt. Write up what they said to you, have them view it and sign it witha witness.

How about telling people what shop this is so others don't use them.

well i am gonna go get a police report tomo... just so i have proof of what happened so they cant back out on paying for it.

And i dont want to say what shop it was... the guys have been real good about all this and i dont wanna give em a bad rep.

They might be handling it ok, but I sure as hell would be pissed if some shop left my car sitting outside in it's lot with no window.

Get it all in writing bro, if not andthe shop's shady you might be faced with a he said she said scenario with no proof on your end. If they just said "go buy one and we'll reimburse you" I'd be pretty skeptical, what if you buy one for $200 or $2000, they'll be OK with that ... I doubt it.
