Stratotech lapping/time attack Sept 29 (Edmonton)

Is anyone going to the lapping/time attack event at Stratotech raceway on the 29th of September?
It's going to be a timed event and it would be cool to see some beyond.ca people out there.

The event is organized by Speedway Performance, an Edmonton shop. Cost is $150 (online) or $160 (gate, not guaranteed a spot of course) and goes from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Stratotech is actually about 20 minutes out of Edmonton, by Fort Saskatchewan. It's a nice track with tight corners. The event will be timed (hence the time attack), there's space for 32 participants, and 1-3rd place receive prizes.

I'm going for sure. I did a lapping event there late August and the track is a lot of fun. If there's interest I can post a map/directions to the track from Calgary or Edmonton.


Edit: Event is Saturday Sept 29th, 2007. Not the 31st.

hmmm... sounds really interesting... i want to go. but not 100% just yet. but isn't sept. 31st a monday? if so that's gonna make it hard for a lot of people to make it out. if it was on a weekend, then i would 90% go.

My bad. The last event was on Aug 31st, so I got the dates mixed up. It's actually on Sept 29th, which is a Saturday.

I'll probably go.... I was at the last lapping seesion, and had a good time, even though I crashed at the end.

what sort of cars have signed up so far? i kinda really wanna come

Anything from Honda Civics with minor suspension work to 500 hp 2nd gen RX7 racecars will be at the track. Cars are seperated into groups by tire class. Subdivison of classes into groups is based on your car type.
I'm not sure what you're driving, but we can find a group of matched cars to put you in.

edit: you drive an SRT4 don't you?
