2004 Chevrolet Cobalt Disguised as a Cavalier

They've begun testing the Cobalt.

Here are some pics of the car with a Cavalier nose and tail in place for disguise.

They did the same thing when they brought out the C5 vette. They disguised it as a modded Camaro.

Check out the blower.

So the cobalt is just a 4 door cavalier with a supercharger?.....cuz that car has Cavalier doors and roof line

That is NOT the Cobalt. That has 3rd Gen Altezza Cavalier tails, they no longer use that style of tails on the 2003+ Cavalier. Likewise for the head lights, and clear corners, they were re-designed for 2003+

the headlights dies in 2002 along with the tails new cavaliers look UGLY and that cav dosen't look 2 bad...i think thats just a 2002 cavalier Z24 4door

It says Z24 on the trunk!! Look at the badge in the pic below.

It's not a disguise. It's a Cavalier Z24. NOT a Cobalt.

hey! thats a cool color! Thats the turbo cavalier they drag around to the nopi or sema shows down in the usa.. but the one they had was grey.. same look though.

The cobalt is just a rebadged opel astra with a few tweaks... it wont debut till 2005. The 'cavalier' name dies... and the cobalt will no longer be the ecobox of the chevy brand, as they will have something smaller to take its place.

Based on the delta series, it shares its platform with the new saturns. I think standard hp will be something comparable with most small/medium family sedans/coupes.. think accord v4's I guess... with a turbo model available with 230.. something like that. I guess we wont really know till it comes out.

ooh! hey! dont the red one and the gold one have the same rims?

and also, as for the z24 bit... I dont think it should be called a z24.. but in a way, it can.. because z24's never came in four door.. the four doors have an LS trim that has a z24 engine... (2.4L) but were never called z24 officially.. nice touch! heh!

oh! and they will have a hatch (maybe 5door hatch), coupe and sedan.

I personally dont like the name cavalier... I dont like cobalt either.. although its a nice change... but in a way, I felt the cavalier woulda had a fresh start... but this way, its reborn.. hopefully to something better..

Yep, that's true. But since it has the Z24's 2.4L twin cam engine, and it's also available in 5spd trim, I suppose it can be called a Z24

But it's most certainly not a Cobalt, and I have no idea how he came up with that

^^ True that... but I'll give the guy a break... its not like he's a cavalier guy or something.. just passin on some information.. it DOES look a lil different.. and nobody would believe its turbo'd... and a cavalier at that!! Damn, its pretty clean. I drive by GSL chevy everyday when I go to work... Im so used to seeing the new cavs that I forgot what the pre 03's looked like... eventhough I drive a 2k cav. hahaha

In 2002 Chevrolet made a Cavalier Z24 Four Door. with the Z type suspention and interior even a sun roof.

Just going by what was emailed to me.

Apparently that is the powerplant for the Cobalt.
