Costco Game Return Policy

I just bought NHL 08 and a buddy of mine told me that I should have gotten it from Costco. He says you can return any electronics within a year no questions asked. Does this apply for video games too?

I find it hard to believe that I can go purchase NHL 08, then in 11 months return it and get NHL 09. Anyone know what's the deal here?

Opened software?

I'm keeping my NHL 08, but just for future games like NBA when it comes out, that would be pretty sweet if it worked. Like I said, I'm pretty skeptical.

I've heard stories of people buying a laptop or computer there and just returning it 11 months later for an upgraded version.

Costco has now limited their return policy because of cheapskates like yourself.
