    anyone know how much a timing belt might be on a 3L 300zx??? its an 88'

    not to get it done, but for the part. almost all belts are made the same, but if you fell better buying the belt from nissan, then go right ahead. As for getting work done on the car, the dealer or a specialty nissan shop would probably be best.

    can anyone tell me when to change the timing belt on a civic? I've heard lots of different times.

    if you dont know when it was done last, then RIGHT NOW! if you do know when it was done last, i generally hear around ever 50 000km

    oh dude of course don't take the car there...just buy the belt...when i needed mine i phoned all the big auto parts stores (NAPA, Auto Value bla bla...) and crappy tire was cheapest

    i dont know man...i changed mine when i put my camshaft in and it was still the original at 140k...there were a few cracks here and there which was expected of course...but 50k is overkill...i think it's 100k in the service manual to change one

    I think timing belt is reccommended to be changed at 100K. I think I did it at 95K on the Corolla. Hmm, I have chain driven on my new car, I'm happy, no changing belts for me

    For Hondas, I've heard 100k or 5 years, whichever comes first.

    As for the Timing belt on the first gen 300zx, I am not sure but I can find out for you ecstacy_civic. I would change it myself. Ask on a Z31 specific site/forum. That would be the most help.
