If you guys had a choice, knowing our winters and the odd trip to Edmonton during the winter, which is the better tire? I've had KW-19's before, but someone just offered me a sweet deal on X-Ice. Which one?

1) Michelin Alphin Artic
2) Michelin X-Ice
3) Goodyear Ultragrip Ice
4) Kumho KW-19
Was using Alphin Artic to Vancouver through snow/ice in Christmas with no problem.

The kw19 is superb on snow but not that great on ice
I would try the x ice or the goodyear ultragrip ice
Blizzaks all the way!
The KW19 is definitely designed to be a more true snow oriented tire sacrificing a bit on ice while the X ice is more ice oriented sacrificing in the snow more. Neither are wrong and both are good. It just depends on which area you choose to focus a bit more attention to with yor driving...
Hmm isn't the Michelin way more expensive than the KW19?
Personally, I'd skip all that crap and use a Nokian tire, any Nokian tire.
I run the X-Ice and love them
Love the X-Ice, but decided to buy Goodyear Nordic from Canadian Tire and I am very impressed for $70 each for 195/60/R14's
X-Ice was $140 each when I was quoted last year.
