Default 2008+ CBR1000RR exhaust flapper mod?

Anyone here with a CBR1000 that's 2008+ try this mod out? I've been giving it some more thought but wondering if it's worth it. Any noticeable difference in sound between normal flapper operation and modified? Or should I just say screw it and get a yoshi r77 slip on?

    Mod video is here:

A bit louder, not a big difference. Only takes 10 min to do, so might as well just try it out and see how you like it

From the vid it sounds a lot louder and if its a 10 min job why the hell havent you done it already Im not familiar with the cbrs but i did something similar to this on my 1199 and opened the flap by hand and removed the servo motor so it couldnt ever close again. There was a check engine light but the exhaust i got comes with a plug to cancel it.

According to the manufactures i read the flap is there to create back pressure at low rpms but according to everyone else its there purely for noise reduction when idling.

And last but not least, Friends dont let friends ride stock exhausts

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

Haha, I guess I'm a little late to the party then. I'll get right on it and update this thread with the results.

    Forgot to update this thread:

I got the bike ready for summer and I performed this mod. The flap on the stock exhaust is now open full time. It definitely sounds more throaty and maybe just a tad louder. I haven't went for a ride yet so I'll see how it sounds while riding.

Free mod and 10 mins of your time for a little more noise sounds like a win win
