Well this was unexpected...

So last sunday I wake up to the doorbell and my neighbour telling me he hit my car with his truck. So I go out and look and its a bit worse then I thought it was going to be.

So today I finally get the estimate for the damages and they tell me $8000 . $8000 from someone misjudging a turn. I drive a 1994 Integra Rs with a few mods so this basically means that its going to be a write off.

Anyways the car only has 130,000km on the motor, body was in great shape, so what can I expect the appraiser to tell me the car is worth?? I really hope its not like $4000 just because of the year, because that would really suck. and I know I could have got more for it if I sold it.

Any damage costs an arm and a leg these days. You think its not that bad but its worse than you think.

It's easy to see costs skyrocket with new vehicles with all the technology and such, but a 94 teg? Man it must be creamed to do that much damage. I rolled a Suzuki SwiftGT years and years ago and there wasn't a panel or window left undamaged and it was only $8k.

I had a truck sideswipe me... 1/4 panel and door... Came out to an estimate of about 2k... I ended up paying another 1200ish on top of that just to get a new 1/4 welded in (oem from honda) and resprayed. Also had the side mouldings done.
