Adding subs to E46 harmon kardon system??

Hey,

My E46 already has the bmw harmon kardon amp and the 2 stock drivers(small) that came with it and i just wanted to know if its possible to add another sub and amp while keeping the stock system? and if possible how?

Doesn't it come with a sub stock? My HK has a sub in the little trunk door that opens up for ski access.

It did come with a stock sub. Its just that i wanted to add another JL or JBL one as well.

you can add another amp to the system. the fac. amp is on the drivers side rear, and that is where you have to tap a line out convertor to add the new amp. i would also prob. recommend that you disable the factory sub if you are adding an aftermarket one.

You would tap into the line before the stock amp, am i correct?

Yeah, disable the factory amp or else it's gonna sound like shit. There's really no point in keeping the stock sub if you are going to add a aftermarket sub.
