When you name your child just practice by saying the these sentences and fill in the blank with the proposed name.

"I would like to introduce the honourable ______________ to the courtroom"

"Here is chief correspondent ______________ reporting from London"

"Director and CEO of Honda Canada ______________"

"Prime Minister ________________ has announced that he will eliminate income tax by 2035"
You will figure out which names should NOT be used.

Y not do the opposite, lets start naming our kids after people in the past century.
    EG.
Doris, Benedict, George, Harry, Harriet, Meredith
    or Lusifer

For the unwanted, accidental kids they could get the dog names:

Fido, Sparky, Toby, Daisy, or Rex.....J/JK

Way back when, there was a realtor in Calgary with the name "Anita Dick."

    I kid you not.

I kind of lucked out in the name department (Heather). It's not super common, but not totally out there... and I never have to spell it out for people. I like names like that... I think I'd name a daughter something like Charlotte, and a son would be Hunter.

I have a friend who named her son Ryn. I'm assuming it's pronounced Ryan (I've only ever read it over email) and Ryan is a great name, but honestly, this poor child will have to spell his name out to EVERYONE for the rest of his life!

And the new "it" name for girls seems to be "Nevaeh" which, not so coincidentally, spells heaven backwards. WTF? Talk about giving your kid a princess complex right out of the womb. Haha and the whole Brayden, Aiden, Drayden, Cayden trend... Take any consonant, put an aiden or an ayden behind it and you have a name! Soon every preschool can make a rhyming poem with the name of each member of the class cause they are essentially all the same name.

I'm all for finding a name that isn't super common for a kid. I have an unusual name and I love it, but my name wasnt made by randomly hitting keys on the keyboard either. I have to laugh because all of the "classic" names that we grew up with like Jennifer and Marie, Matthew, David, Brian, ect are all old news to most of us. LOL but pick one for your child and they will grow up being the unique one cause all the rest of the hippy parents had to name their sons and daughters Aiden and Brayden and Mykaiyla and Navaeh.

I could not agree more with you...we just had a daughter and everyone said name her this name her that..all names that were so wacky..we ended up with Ava sara lynn, which IMO are all classic names that will suit her, her entire life, if she wants to be a lawyer it works if she wants to be a dr it works. I feel sorry for these kids with these wacky names.

You people that give your kids weird names are fucking morons. Seriously.

I worked with a girl who named her daughters after characters from fucking Star Trek. She thought it was "so cool", and "really unique". Her name was Janet Yeah, it's easy to name your kids like freaks when you have a regular name, and no idea what it's like to live your life named "JADZIA".

You should need a license to have children. (For the 7 billionth time)

Damien is sweet, but I think I'll have to go with Gurt & Quimples.

My wife tried to name our daughter Jaden....I vetoed that right away. After months of negotiations we finally agreed on Torie, and cut down Jaden to Jade for her middle name. It isn't way out there, but at the same time it isn't very common.

My girlfriends parents spelled her name danyell and it makes no sense to me at all why they would spell it like that.

Who gives a shit what people name their kids?
they aren't your kids now are they?

I bet 100 years ago, half the names we use now people would say was crazy talk.

anyways, if i were to name a child i'd be something epic.

    like...

    Zeus
    Arcadia
VII [in reference to seinfield, but you could pronounce it Vee if you wanted i suppose]

I once worked with a guy named Zoltan. I thought that was the coolest name of all time. Sounds like some sort of electric superhero or a transformer or something.
