Congrats and welcome to the neighbourhood.

You'll like it in Evanston. It's a nice quiet area and there seems to be a lot of community events

And extra for purchasing a house at these prices at the age of 21.

Congrats. It's a hard time to be buying a house, but it's never back to be a homeowner.

    Very nice.

Maybe you should go to this thread and tell everyone how it was impossible for you to buy your house:

Nice, I used to live up in Creekside (same community basically). Homes will hold their value pretty well, in fact go up. We turned our house around for about $150,000 profit. Just be prepared for wind up there, my house would shake a lot when it got windy.

It's such an awesome feeling to own property at 21, I belong to that club as well. GIANT congrats, the scarry bits will pass once the first mortgage payment comes out and you realize you can do it. Good luck and congrats again!

Not wanting to rain on anyones parade but theres something to be said for being young and enjoying life. It doesnt mean you have to be wreckless with your money and spend it on "stupid" stuff like clothes, booze and partying.

I dont know your situation in terms of finances, jobs, family, etc but I wouldnt know why any 21 yr old would want to buy a house way out in the suburbs and burden themselves with a huge mortgage. Theres a lot more to life than homeownership; youll always be able to buy a house but youll never get a chance to be in your early 20s and be realtively carefree.
