I watched a cbc spot on the "censors", they're volunteers. It was pretty funny, because they'd show this group of average joes and housewives sitting in a room in front a tv with clipboards. The TV is pixelated, obviously, but you can hear that they're watching some AWFUL shit. The one interviewer was saying that they just become desensitized to the whole thing, and just don't even pay attention to the content, they're just looking for things like non-simulated unconsentual sex. It was pretty funny at some point, because they know the porn makers, and there was one woman and she says something like "oh yeah, (insert name here), we hate that guy, about 1/3 of his movies actually get through, he's awful".

I was going down that list, and I see that Tom "Ropes" Mcgurk name a lot. So, I thought... "Damn, this guy must be doing good work!"

After 30 sec of google, all I can say is... Fck Off! That is some sick sht!!! That is twisted to see during anytime of the day, let alone it's 8:30 in the morning right now!

Just when I thought watching porn all day must be a pretty sweet job. Then I realized porns can be a double-edged sword depending on your preferences...

i can't believe some of you find it funny that the Government is censoring what you can or cannot watch or read ala the Nazis and Commies. Sure you see the porn on the list, but there are political and scientific books that are on the list which are banned due to their controversial nature. They find these books in a package coming to Canada and the books get burned. You guys find this acceptable?

Meh. 9 times out of 10 those scientific or political books are complete bullshit that no one should ever read. The other 10% are the ones that take up the grey area between insane propaganda and merely questionable material.

I don't think it's that big of a loss that a bunch of wackjobs aren't going to get their copy of "Why Hitler was right!". I mark it down as another one of those laws that prohibit our rights for a reason, like the laws against manslaughter and rape.. Sure sometimes a few people will get falsley accused, but that's the unfairness of life.

there are plenty of ignorant and dangerous books in Chapters at this minute. Is it the government's job to read through them and weed them out?

And it is NOT the governments responsibility to make decisions for me every day. That is what they do because they're a bunch of fascist pigs with a military that is bigger than mine. That's the way most governments work i accept it, but it doesnt mean i have to like it.
