Default Taking a fellow beyonder to small claims court

Well, I was hoping that it wouldn't come down to this, but I guess some people just have no real sense of what's right! I honestly didn't think this beyonder would do this but I guess there are a lot of people who are totally the opposite of what they seem!

Anyway, after looking into the suing process, I am certain that everything will be in my favour. Yes it will cost me about 200 bux, but hey, Im alreayd out a grand from this guy so if I get back 800 I'll be happy. I'll get into the story a little bit later when I'm not so busy and I'll let you be my online jury! haha

My real question is: has anyone on here gone to court before? I'm not talking about traffic violations but rather a civil case?

It's funny, back in the day I would be furious and trying to do all sorts of horrible shit like break legs or windows, but now, I'm quite content to acquire my money back legally. I've tried diplomatic solutions but apparently this beyonder that I'm dealing with is quite ignorant and has no sense of fairness or even common sense for that matter. No bother, just let me know about your stories please! Thanks.

I've done it before (but here in the UK). Should be similar, except mine was done all online.
If you've got the proof you'll be fine, and you can always ask for $1200 so this beyonder can pay for your legal fees, thats what I did. Why should you be out of pocket when they screwed you over? It's worth a shot and chances are it will probably all fall into your favour, so you'll get the full amount of money.

    Hmm...new section suggestion: "Answer Leo!"

Btw, this "member" wouldn't happen to be a mod by chance, would it?

In any case, it is possible to sue for more than what was owed. No, I don't mean be a greedy pig and demand half a mill for mental hardships, stress, etc. What I'm suggesting is you can legally sue for $1200 - $1k to get your money back, and $200 for your legal fees.

EDIT: Dang! Above poster beat me to it!

    From the other thread:

Anyway, mine is a bit more in terms of $$ but basically, I thought I could trust this guy, and as you know, I'm over seas so I wasn't able to pick up my purchase so after a few years, he didn't try once to contact me and now he's saying it's my fault and I'm entitled to nothing.
Now, I'm not too familiar with the relevant laws, but you bought it a few years ago and never picked it up? That's a long time for the seller to be storing it for you for free.

Either way, more info would be a good idea.

a quick and fair way to settle this is for the other guy to give you back the money you paid MINUS a monthly storage fee of whatever $.
