Default Dyson vacuums, is it worth it?

hey guys, i figure beyond would have more insight in this than i would.
I'm looking for a new canister type vacuum and i've been hearing these great things about dyson vacuums, but the one i want runs for 600bucks, now is it really worth it? the i see that the average price for a vacuum is about 200bucks.
My old one was a kenmore and it lasted over 15years, i'd get another kenmore but i hear they're shit quality now haha

this is the one i have my eye on

Just picked one up for my mom last week, but not this model.

Very cool vacuum, looks great and pretty hi-tech and light.

The only problem is my mom says it only picks up dust and such. Not things like string or small wrappers.

we have the exact one but bought it at costco about 3 months ago for a little cheaper then the price at best buy. it works awsome, picks up all the dog hair in our carpet 100 times better than our old vacuum, which was a kenmore, which we only had for about a year. i recomend it..

And 5 bucks goes to that he sells Dysons, or works for them.

None the less they are totally worth the money, hands down one of the best vacuums out there. I used to sell them all the time at Future Shop and have one at home myself.

WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THROUGH BEST BUY(FUTURE SHOP)

lol sorry to put so much emphasis on it, but they'd really try and convince you that dyson really doesnt have a 5 year warranty which is bs blah blah they suck.
Also you can buy one from the states for 500, just putting that out there.

I have that exact same one, and Hampstor gave me shit for spending 600 bucks on a vacuum as well, but he understands now. I can vaccum my whole house with it, tile and hardwood included, my other vaccum said it could do all floor surfaces, but it was a piece of crap. The Dyson is DEFINITELY worth every penny.

its a scam... these dyson vacuums in europe sell for 1/4 the price, and they don't even work that great.

I bought the same, the stow-away. It works so good. I moved into a new condo and it was gross how much new carpet fiber and construction dust it is picking up. I've vacuumed the carpet over six times now and it still picks up so much junk from the carpet. I definately would recommend it, though they are a bit pricey.

If you're not in a hurry to buy one yet, sign up on Linens and things. They always email 20% off coupons that are valid for Dyson vacuums.

I have that same unit as well.

Does the phrase "Gold ball through a garden hose" ring a bell.

You wouldn't believe the stuff this thing will pick u.

I got mine at Zellers mainly because my Sister in law used to work there.

Too bad they don't make a central vac version! Anyways, I bought this before I got a central vac and it's definitely way better than the $200 vacuums. I'd recommend waiting for some kind of discount rather than having to spend the $600.

I believe all the newer Linen and Things coupons have the Dyson as the exception. If you can find an old coupon that doesn't have Dyson on it, you might luck out because they honour old coupons.

The odd time they might have a floor model with 20% off. I found a floor model on discount, the canister wasn't even dirty.
