    Default Email forwarding (spam)

So I received this email saying that some poor soul needs $ for an operation etc., and some company will pay a certain amount each time this email is forwarded. My logic is that I can only confirm that the sender sent it to a certain list, that he/she can easily copy paste the previous senders (if any), and how the heck can that company keep track of how many forwards there are?

Am i totally outta the blue here thinking that this email is a waste of time (other than raising awareness if the event was true)?

If you believe that then you believe that I need you to send me $10000 in order to release 5 million from a Norwegian bank account and I will reimburse you 5 times what you have paid. My father passed away and left me the money but I need the money to fly to my home country to talk to the bank.

There is no way to track how many times its been forwarded. It's a chain-letter, a scam, whatever. The only possible way would be to embed some kind of javascript of php tracking code which is impossible as about 50% of e-mails are still sent as .txt binaries.

Will you accept a $10,000 money order from my Nigerian uncle?
