The 60's was the dark ages?
Too, I wonder whether there would be more closet supremacists and racists coming out of the woodwork if it were the "in" thing to do again. Because, nowadays, it just ain't a publicly cool thing to do - hence why people hide it, supress it, and do it in the privacy of their own computers. Do a simple google search. You'll find a lot of them.
In the MidEast, Muslim parts of Africa and all those places on the other hand, the population is more homogenous in that they have the same religion, same ethnic typology, this to the pont that it's far easier to agree on one thing and thus far easier to create any mob of sort.
I dunno. Maybe if it sounds like defending Sudan and the Sudanese too much, I probably am. However, it just stems from the fact that it smacks too much of a High Horse, we "re so much more advanced and oh so fucking right" attitude.
Whereas in the past, Colonialism was justified by "White Man's Burden", nowadays, we have something like....
"The Democratic Secular Man's Burden". Yes! We are so much more enlightened, free, and prosperous! We therefore have existence and life figured out. It is our righteous duty then to educate those primitive hordes from the foreign lands of wherever! Yee haaa.!
All I'm saying: hold back your pride and superiority complex We ain't all that. Not quite yet.
