PHOENIX, Arizona In what was a tragic weekend for rallying, following the deaths of Mark Lovell and Roger Freeman, AV Sport continued their successful run in the 2003 SCCA ProRally series.

Tim O’Neil and Alex Gelsomino finished 2nd overall in the Air Force Reserve Focus, keeping pressure on winner David Higgins until the final stage.

“Testing prior to the event enabled some changes to the car’s set up and Tim drove an exceptional event,” commented team boss Andy Brown.

O’Neil extended his 2nd place points position and is looking forward to Maine, an event that has to be classed as his local rally.

Shane Mitchell and Paul Donnelly continue to impress in their Group N Subaru Impreza. A fuel pump switch failure cost Mitchell 15 minutes, however he was regularly the fastest Group N car on the second day.

Craig Peeper and Ian Bevan had their best event of the year, finishing 4th in Group N and 10th overall.
