    Lightbulb Mass shooting stopped dead

Just a developing story, I apologize for the CNN story.

    http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/12/11/col...ngs/index.html

A mass shooter in a mall gets shot dead before others get killed. You can thank a woman rent a cop with a gun for stopping the killer. What makes this case special is that the gun man was killed during the rampage, not after.

In Canada they need to start giving campus and mall security better training, higher recruitment standards and pay, and guns.

    WHAT WHAT?!?!?!

They must have their facts wrong.

You see, having a gun won't help you if your assailant has one as well because he'll just shoot you as you're fumbling to get yours out. As such, this incident must have been misinterpreted. In the real world, you having a gun doesn't matter because you'll die anyway. I can't remember exactly where I read that, but I think it may have been recently, and it might have even been on this board.

I was skeptical of this retardo-logic at first, but I then came to realise that, as long as we make sure that everyone is unarmed and no one is prepared for incidents like this (or the countless others that happen every year), and we all hope really really hard (closing your eyes helps), nothing bad will ever happen to us.

The real problem here is that we're not hoping hard enough. While I'd love to discuss this further, I feel it would be a disservice as the more time I spend here, the less time I spend hiding under my blanky and hoping for the best. With that, I bid you adieu. I'm off to make the world a safer place, one lollypop fantasy at a time...

That's why I said higher recruitment standards and better training, I wouldn't give those tools guns either.

lol I love how every time something like this happens, the people who knew the shooter start coming out saying how the person was troubled and had issues but no one really did anything about it

I don't blame you. However there is a short cute brunette security guard there who can wield my rifle anytime, if you catch my drift.

Er, this happened in a church, not a mall. It's a mass church that had 6 armed security guards on duty at the time.

Something people also must note is that the church only beefed up security after the shootings at the YWAM offices earlier that week.

Not sure which way you're going with the sarcasm, but I'm cool with lethal force when it is supposed to be lethal.

Besides, no cop would use a taser on someone using a gun.

sorry meant used a taser, not had. If she would have tased him and killed him, it might have been a different story.

Why would any company want to hire expensive security guards, when 90% of companies do it just for insurance reasons. I used to be a security guard years ago, and I got $8/hr and crisp polyester pants. My training was watching a video on conflict resolution, learning the importance of a clip-on tie, and how to use the radio to call a supervisor. The last thing anyone would want, myself included, is to have any sort of weaponery short of a radio. Its just not feasible to train an elite security force unless you are training for brinks type of position.

    Bahahahahahhahahahahah!!!!!!

Sorry; I worked for Brinks for 3.5 years. And 50% of the people that work there should be nowhere near guns.

Our training is certainly not all that great. And they provide no security to anyone, anywhere.

Her training must have sucked. You pull the trigger until the target is down and unmoving. No fucking sympathy for people with guns in the real world.

If your in a firefight, you don't stop until the other side is down. Can't negotiate well while firing at each other.
